How To Train Your Rat

Sitting on the stair with one had full of grapes Freya had kept herself and her rat Smurf busy for at least half an hour, and it seemed that the pet was finally getting the hang of “Up.” and “Down.”. The Gryffindor was getting a bit sick of grapes as well, she had kept on eating them as well ever since she sat down here to see if Smurf remembered what her grandfather had taught him during the summer (and apparently the rat had decided to play stupid to get more treats)…

Headmaster Ophello had been walking the hallways. He observed the students enjoying themselves and socializing.
Opehllo held a book in his hands as he wondered along reading.
He paused for a moment entering the Entrance Hall. He looked around and noticed a peculiar sight. A young gryffindor training her pet rat.
Adjusting his monocle, Headmaster Opehllo smiled at the girl. "I see you are enjoying yourself Ms. Williams.

"Ah, yes Sir! Sorry, I didn't see you comming!"
Really, not greeting an authority figure, he dad would be ashamed! Scrambling to her feet, lycky enough to not drop the grapes she stood aside to let him pass, even if the stair was so wide she'd hardly be in the way...

Ophello gave a smile. "Don't worry Ms. Williams you're not in trouble or anything."
He picked up one of the grapes that fell down. Glancing at the very large rat, the headmaster chuckled. "Feeding your rat?" He pointed out handing her back the grape.

"I must say he is rather big one." He smiled, "but very cute."

"Um, well, to tell you the truth Sir I have to bribe him to obey. He is a bit smarter than a dog..."
Accepting the grape she couldn't stop herself from making a small face at Smurf, who was now making clear the thought he'd earned that grape as well by tapping his tail against the step in the stair he was standing on, then getting up on two legs and almost reaching out for it with his front paws

"Is that so?"

Headmaster Ophello glanced at the rat standing up for the grape and chuckled. It was rather funny to see that. The rat was indeed as big as a small dog. "Well, you seem to be doing a good job of training him. Positive reinforcement for tricks. It is a good technique for training animals."

"Yeah, thing is I don't know if his memory is short some times or that he's just lazy and want to keep stuf at beginners-level..."

Giving Smurf the new sign for Up to get him to atl east climb one step in the stair she then gave him the grape
